Liverpool No Longer Premier League Favourites

Liverpool have surrendered their grip on Premier League favouritism following their 1-1 draw against West Ham United on Monday night as support for Manchester City continues to swell.

Pep Guardiola’s men can go top of the Premier League with a victory in their game against Everton, which was rearranged to accommodate their participation in the Carabao Cup Final later this month.

The three points would put City level on points with Liverpool but their superior goal difference would put them ahead of the Reds having played one game more. Punters have reacted however to Liverpoool’s draw at the London Stadium by backing City into 5/6 favourites with BoyleSports from 7/4 before the latest round of fixtures started.

Liverpool began the weekend as hot 1/2 favourites but they are now behind the reigning champions in the betting at 11/10.

There has also been an increase of bets on Tottenham, who find themselves just five points behind Liverpool with a visit to Anfield ahead on their fixture list next month. Although still outsiders, their odds have more than halved into 16/1 from 33/1 after consecutive victories against Fulham, Watford and Newcastle.
