Moises Caicedo Next Club Odds – Chelsea Strong Favourites

We have Moises Caicedo next club odds for you as the Ecuadorian midfielder looks set to leave Brighton for a big money deal this summer.

Who is Moises Caicedo?

Moises Caicedo is seemingly one of the rising midfield stars in Europe, hot on the lips of football fans and high on the wish list of a plethora of clubs.

The 21-year-old Ecuadorian International has made just 53 appearances for Brighton since signing from Independiente del Valle in 2021 but already looks destined for a summer transfer.

How Good is Moises Caicedo?

Brighton were able to rebuff attempts to sign him from Arsenal back in January, but his continued strong performances will mean clubs will step up their interest again.

Despite playing in the defensive midfield position (an area in which players often don’t excel until their mid-twenties or later) his Pass Completion of 88.5% ranks in the 94th percentile, Interceptions Per 90 of 1.61 in the 89th percentile, 2.87 Tackles Per 90 in the 87th percentile. It’s clear why his stock among Europe’s top clubs is so high.

Let’s look at the likely options for him in the summer!

Moses Caicedo Next Club Odds

Chelsea –  1/8

Chelsea seems to be in a constant state of being linked with and/or bidding for everyone, such is the reputation they have built under the ownership of Roman Abramovich (maybe to a lesser extent). Now under Todd Boehly it has gone to another level.

In 22/23 Chelsea splurged over £600 million on transfers and show no signs of stopping this summer and while Financial Fair Play rules could be a factor with Mason Mount and others linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge that could be enough to balance the books and help Chelsea continue to flex their financial muscle.

The Blues look set to step up talks for Moises Caicedo this week after a £60m offer was rejected earlier this month. Brighton are reportedly seeking more than £80m for the midfielder. Caicedo seems a key part of new Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino’s plans so there’s a good chance Chelsea and Brighton will work out a deal at some point soon.

4-2-3-1 GK: Mamardashvili, RB: James, CB: Silva, CB Koulibaly, LB: Cucurella, CM: Caicedo, CM:  Fernández, AM Veiga, RW Madueke, CF Jackson, LW Mudryk

Arsenal – 5/1

Arsenal went from 5th in the 21/22 season to title challengers and 2nd place this season while securing Champions League qualification for the first time since the 15/16 season. The Gunners have primarily played with a midfield trio of Partey, Xhaka and Odegaard this season.

However, Partey and Xhaka are both getting older and both players have also been linked with moves away from the Emirates Stadium this summer. Manager Mikel Arteta will want more options and quality in-depth if Arsenal are going to continue to progress next season and Caicedo would offer them just that.

While reports seem to suggest that Rice remains the priority, Arsenal have continued to be linked with other midfielders as they could be set to overhaul their midfield. Arsenal had a £60 million bid rejected in January and could return to the table again with another offer.

Man United –  8/1

Erik ten Hag has had a decent first season as Man United manager and has recruited cleverly in the transfer market. The addition of Casemiro in particular has been a breath of fresh air in midfield this season since the 31-year-old signed from Real Madrid offering the team the defensive solidity in midfield they haven’t had in years.

The difference in the team with Casemiro and without Casemiro is night and day. United appear stylistically more solid and controlled while also statistically they won up to 30% more of the time when Casemiro is on the field.

At 31, Casemiro isn’t getting younger and with the club’s other usual midfield options McTominay, Fred, Eriksen and Bruno all more of a “Number-8” type there is no direct replacement for Casemiro in the squad. Caicedo would fit the bill as a younger version of Casemiro to play with and rotate with him before leading the United midfield for the next eight or nine years if things go according to plan.

In addition United have been linked with Caicedo before having rivalled Brighton for his signing back in 2021.

Other Contenders For Caicedo

Tottenham are priced up at odds of 25/1 to land Caicedo in what would be seen by many as a sideways move for the player or even a step back despite the appointment of Ange.

Liverpool could be looking to overhaul their midfield and have been linked to him in the past are currently 25/1 also.

Newcastle are a wild card at 33/1 but are not cash-strapped and to me seems like the perfect potential signing for Newcastle.
