New Favourite To Win Aintree Grand National Has Been Revealed

The Aintree Grand National is near and there’s a new favourite among an fantastic field of runners hoping to win jump racing’s biggest prize.

There might be no Tiger Roll in this year’s Grand National spectacle, but Ted Walsh will be aiming Any Second Now at the title this year having finished third in the event 12 months ago with just 8¼ lengths separating him to Balko Des Flos and winner Minella Times.

BoyleSports have cut the recent Grade Three Bobbyjo Chase winner at Fairyhouse into 8/1 from 10/1 meaning the JP McManus owned stayer is the new favourite to don the 2022 crown.

Rachael Blackmore made history in the 2021 running of the race when becoming the first woman to win the Aintree Grand National with the Henry De Bromhead trained Minella Times. His odds have been clipped into 16/1 from 20/1 to win back-to-back titles, a feat that Tiger Roll accomplished in 2018 and 2019.

The Aintree Grand National is a race that brings the entire world to a standstill.

Delta Work caused scenes at the Cheltenham Festival earlier this month by winning the Glenfarclas Chase by three quarters of a length, denying Tiger Roll victory on his swansong.

It was a mighty impressive performance from the Gordon Elliott trained Delta Work so it’s no surprise to see his Grand National chances tumble into 9/1 from 20/1 making him the second favourite.

Other contenders who are high up in the betting include Longhouse Poet at 16/1, 2019 BoyleSports Irish Grand National winner Burrows Saint at 16/1, Death Duty at 25/1 and Discorama at 33/1.
