Next England Manager Odds – Betting Favourites

Eddie Howe

The favourite in the betting is the current Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe. The 45-year-old has done a brilliant job since taking over The Magpies last November which makes him a serious contender to take the England job once the Gareth Southgate era comes to an end.

Newcastle now sit at third place in the Premier League table ahead of teams like Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool.

You can back Howe to be England’s next permanent manager at odds of 13/2.

Mauricio Pochettino

Pochettino will be a popular name for the England job if it becomes vacant much like he has been a name to watch for other recent job openings. The Argentine coach has previously had success in English football with Tottenham Hotspur who he guided to the Champions League final back in 2018.

The 50-year-old confessed back in September that he would be ‘open’ to taking on the England manager job during an interview with The Athletic.

Our odds makers rate ‘Poch’ as a real contender for the England job at 13/2 odds.

Steve Cooper

The current Nottingham Forest manager is another name among the favourites to be the next England manager. Cooper is under pressure at the moment with Forest 18th in the Premier League table.

The Welsh man has had previous stints with England at underage levels which will make him a familiar face to the FA. Cooper, who recently turned 42, is a young coach who will know a lot of these English players after having coached the u17 team to a World Cup.

Cooper could be an interesting bet at 7/1 odds.

Thomas Tuchel

Reports suggest that the former Chelsea manager would be interested in taking the England job if it becomes available. Tuchel made a bright start at Stamford Bridge after he was hired back in January of 2021.

The German coach eventually brought Chelsea to Champions League glory with a win against a fancied Man City side in the 2021 final. Early season struggles this year in the Premier League and new owners at the London club resulted in the 49-year-old being sacked.

Many thought that the sacking was a rash decision by the club and given his previous success Tuchel is a hot property for every big managerial job that becomes available.

You can back Tuchel to land the England job at 8/1.

Graham Potter

Potter is currently the Chelsea manager after being appointed in September of this year. The native of Solihull comes highly regarded after his spell at Brighton where he helped the team achieve a ninth placed finish in the 2021/22 season while also starting off this year’s Premier League campaign strongly with the club.

The big question mark around Potter is if he would move for the England job so quick after his Chelsea appointment. Perhaps the dream of managing his country would be too good to pass up for the 47-year-old.

Potter is 8/1 in the betting to be the next England manager.
