QUARTER-FINALS

James Wade v Michael van Gerwen

“Looking ahead to night twelve in Dublin and kicking things off are the opening quarterfinal are James Wade and Michael van Gerwen. I fancy MVG to get by the Machine here, but I do think it will be a close one.”

“Both players are solid in the Premier League particularly MVG who I thought was excellent last week. He was unfortunate not to win the final against Jonny Clayton. It’s an MVG win for me.”

Gerwyn Price v Joe Cullen

“Awaiting Michael van Gerwen will be the winner of Gerwyn Price and Joe Cullen and I think the Rockstar will beat the Iceman. Price has not been at it lately in this Premier League with his niggling hand injury.”

“He has said he is not in any pain but there still fluid on the hand and that is causing a bit on an issue. I think Joe Cullen has done OK in this Premier League campaign and he is still in the mix for the top four.”

Michael Smith v Gary Anderson

“The third quarterfinal is between Michael Smith and Gary Anderson at the opposite end of the table. These two are running out of time to make the play-offs and you would feel that whoever wins this match should go on and win the night just to get back in touch.”

“A couple of wins and they still wouldn’t be in the top four so there is loads to do. I think the Bully Boy will just get the better of Anderson.”

Jonny Clayton v Peter Wright

“The last quarterfinal sees the Ferret taking on Snakebite and this is a rematch of last week where Clayton was victorious over Wright. I thought Jonny rode his luck a little bit in that match and I think Peter is going to get revenge here and move into the semi-finals.”

“From there I can’t see anything other than a Michael van Gerwen v Peter Wright final where I think MVG will win. He looked good last week in Aberdeen and was very unfortunate not to win. I still fancy MVG to win the overall title with his odds at 2/1 favourite to claim his sixth Premier League title.

CHARITY BET

BoyleSports have offered Webster a £200 charity bet for every week of the Premier League. He has chosen Joe Cullen to win his quarterfinal with a Full House at 9/2 (boosted from 7/2) with proceeds going to Parkinson’s UK. There is already £1,300 in the kitty so hopefully more can be added on Thursday evening.

SUPER BOOST

Webster is also predicting Michael van Gerwen and Joe Cullen to win the opening quarter-finals with those odds boosted to 7/2 from 9/4.
