Rory McIlroy Masters Odds – Career Grand Slam Time?

We have Rory McIlroy Masters odds for you as he looks to win his first Masters title and complete the Grand Slam of Golf.

Rory Mcllroy is a 4-time major winner having won the US Open in 2011, the PGA Championship in 2012 and 2014 and The Open Championship in 2014. However, despite his early career domination in the majors it is now approaching a decade since his last major success.

While Mcllroy did not win a major last season and missed the cut in the Masters, his performances progressed for the other three majors coming T7 in the PGA Championship, 2nd in the US Open and T6 in The Open Championship.

Rory Mcllroy Masters Betting Odds

Rory Mcllroy is the third favourite in the betting odds to win the 2024 Masters at odds of 9/1 according to the latest Masters Odds at BoyleSports. Those odds imply that McIlroy has a 10% chance of success at Augusta National. Those odds put him behind Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler in the betting who are currently priced at 8/1.

Mcllroy has been a regular at the top of major betting markets for well over a decade now. Typically he has been somewhere in the 10/1 range in the odds, and he even won this event in 2011.

Could this be his time to land the one major that eludes him? We all know when Mcllroy is at his best there are very few who can live with him on the golf course.

Rory Mcllroy Current Form

McIlroy’s Wins In 2024

It’s early days in 2024 but Rory Mcllroy came agonisingly close to winning the first tournament of the year at the recent Dubai International where he finished T2 along with Thriston Lawrence coming one shot back of Tommy Fleetwood who won with a total of -19 under par.

Most Recent Form

While the golfing tour has been quieter these last few months, when playing Mcllroy has continued showing consistency on course.

During Europe’s 16.5 to 11/5 victory in the 2023 Ryder Cup, Mcllroy put behind some of his darting demons from perceived previous Ryder Cup “underperformances” to being their star player winning 4 points from his 5 matches more than any other player at the event.

Mcllroy followed that up with a T22 finish at the DP World Tour Championship last November coming six shots back of winner Nicolai Højgaard who shot -8 under par. His most recent tournament was a runner-up finish at the Dubai Invitational.

Recent Major Form

McIlroy’s major performances in 2023 started with a poor showing at the 2023 Masters where he was cut from the field.

However, in the other three major competitions, his performances progressed coming T7 in the PGA Championship, 2nd in the US Open and T6 in The Open Championship.

Rory Mcllroy Masters Form

While Mcllroy is undoubtedly one of the greatest major performers in the history of golf, The Masters has proved the toughest nut for him to crack so far in his career.

From 15 events entered he has been CUT from the competition on 3 occasions coming in 2010, 2021 and last year in 2023.

He has finished in the top-10 on 8 occasions and top-5 four times also with his best finish coming at the 2022 Masters where he finished as runner-up coming 3 shots back from Scottie Scheffler.

Rory Mcllroy Major Wins

Rory McIlroy has won four major championships to date in his illustrious playing career. His first win at the majors came as a fresh-faced 22-year-old who took the golfing world by storm as he dominated the field en route to the 2011 US Open. His performance that week was historic as he set the US Open scoring records for 72-hole, 54-hole and 36 holes.

The 2012 PGA Championship followed at Kiawah Island and later the 2014 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool. At the time it looked like McIlroy was destined for the career grand slam and to even win 10+ majors in his career.

Unfortunately, Mcllroy has not lived up to expectations only winning a single major since then which was his fourth and to date final, major at the 2014 PGA Championship at Valhalla.

If Mcllroy masters the 2024 Masters he would become only the sixth player to complete the modern Grand Slam after Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Ben Hogan, Gary Player and Gene Sarazen.
