Rose of Tralee Betting Favourites 2023

New York Rose – Roisin Wiley

The favourite to win the 2023 Rose of Tralee is New York Rose Roisin Wiley at odds of 4/6. The New York Rose has received a lot of support in the betting market over the past week which has seen her odds tumble and make her the favourite ahead of the beginning of the tv shows.

The 27-year-old is a VP of National Sales at a consumer marketing company. She lives in Manhattan and has Irish heritage through her Irish parents Eddie and Majella who were both born and raised in county Limerick.

Mayo Rose – Kate Heneghan

The second favourite to win the 2023 Rose of Tralee is Mayo Rose Kate Heneghan at odds of 5/2. Heneghan had been the clear favourite at odds of evens when the Rose of Tralee betting market opened but has since drifted out as far as 7/2 before being cut back into 5/2.

The 27-year-old violinist, harpist and pianist hails from Castlebar and currently works as a Classical Music Content Specialist.

Clare Rose – Aisling O’Connor

Coming in at odds of 10/1 in the betting for the 2023 Rose of Tralee is Clare Rose Aisling O’Connor. Those odds make her the third favourite in the betting going into the final night of the contest.

The 25-year-old is a native of Feakle in Co.Clare. She has spent the past three years working as a Primary School Teacher in Crumlin, Co. Dublin but has recently returned home to Clare this summer.

Kerry Rose – Kelsey Lang McCarthy

Next up in the betting to win the 2023 Rose of Tralee is Kerry Rose Kelsey Lang McCarthy at 12/1 odds. She had previously been at shorter odds of 9/2 before drifting out to her current odds of 12/1.

Kelsey is a 21-year-old student at the University of Galway who is studying for a degree in Podiatric Medicine. The Kerry Rose has never won the Rose of Tralee so she would be a very popular local winner.

London – Amy Gillen

Next up in the betting at odds of 12/1 is London Rose Amy Gillen. The London Rose has drifted out from previous odds of 11/2 thanks in large part to the New York Rose becoming the strong favourite for the crown.

Amy is a 27-year-old Donegal native who has been living in London for the past few years. She is passionate about music and currently teaches music at the Westminster Performing Arts School.

Sydney – Aoife Butler

Another 12/1 shot to become the 2023 Rose of Tralee is Sydney Rose Aoife Butler.

The 28-year-old is a Mental Health Clinical Nurse Educator in St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney. Aoife moved to Australia four years ago and is now a permanent Australian resident who plans to get her Australian citizenship in the near future.

Laois Rose – Sinead Dowd

The Laois Rose Sinead Dowd has been given odds of 14/1 to win the 2023 Rose of Tralee.

Dowd has a fascinating backstory having been born and raised in New York. Her parents are Irish and she made the solo move to Ireland at the tender age of 16 having felt a special connection to her Irish family and heritage.

Melbourne Rose – Katie Casey

Next up in the betting for the Rose of Tralee crown is Melbourne Rose Katie Casey who is 14/1 to be this year’s winner.

Katie is 28 years old and was born and raised in Causeway, Co. Kerry. She originally emigrated to New Zealand in 2018 before settling in Melbourne.

Carlow Rose – Caoimhe Deering

At 16/1 odds to be the 2023 Rose of Tralee is Carlow Rose Caoimhe Deering. The Carlow Rose had been as short as 6/1 to win the contest but has since drifted out in the betting.

The 22-year-old is a secondary school Geography and English Teacher. Caoimhe has a keen interest in gaelic games and is qualified as a GAA referee.

Cork Rose – Kate Shaughnessy

At odds of 16/1 to become the 2023 Rose of Tralee is Cork Rose Kate Shaughnessy. The Cork Rose had been at longer odds of 33/1 but has gained support in the betting market which has seen her odds fall to 16/1.

The 25-year-old hails from Ballincollig and currently works as the Care Coordinator in Norwood Grange Nursing Home.

Ottawa Rose – Aoife McDonald

Next in the betting for this year’s Rose of Tralee is Ottawa Rose Aoife McDonald who has been installed at odds of 40/1 to be this year’s winner.

The 27-year-old was born and raised in Ottawa although her mother hails from Mountbellew, Co. Galway while her father comes from Portarlington, Co. Laois. Aoife has a degree in History and Political Science and hopes to become a Member of Parliament in Canada in the future.

Aoife was previously the most likely international rose to win this year’s competition. McDonald is another big drifter in the betting market having been as short as 5/1 to be crowned the 2023 Rose of Tralee early in the betting.

Meath Rose – Lane Galvin

Further out in the betting we have Meath Rose Lane Galvin at odds of 50/1 to be the 2023 Rose of Tralee.

Lane is a 26-year-old Midwife in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital who is also on a scholarship studying for a Masters in Research in Trauma Informed Care.

Galvin has been one of the biggest drifters in the market over the past week. Early on she was a co-second favourite at odds of 4/1 but has since drifted all the way out to her current price.

Perhaps she can prove bettors wrong and deliver a Rose of Tralee to Meath to follow up Westmeath’s win in the competition last year.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said:

“Mayo Rose Kate Heneghan has been popular since betting opened, but we’re intrigued to see what the New York Rose has in store tonight because she’s been the big gamble over the past few days.”
