Seeley’s Selections – Bayern Munich v Barcelona

It might be over as a betting event but the Champions League semi-final second leg between Bayern Munich and Barcelona on Tuesday still promises be a classic.

Barca hold a massive 3-0 lead from the first leg and they are just 1/80 with BoyleSports to make in through to next month’s final and it’s impossible to disagree with that.

Bayern Munich are 13/8 to get the much needed win in this one and you can expect Pep Guardiola’s side to go down with a real fight and that could look tempting for many.

On what we witnessed last week however, you just couldn’t be backing them, but their home record in the Champions League this season is fantastic and deserves respect. They boast a 100 per cent record at the Allianz in the competition and have scored a staggering 23 goals in those five home matches and conceded just one.

They thumped Porto 6-1 in the last round and destroyed Shaktar Donetstk 7-0 in the last 16 and in a game where they have to go all-out attack, this match just screams goals.

The first bet I really like might look an obvious one but at 8/13 for the game to feature more than 2.5 goals, it still looks great value for me.

The Germans have to attack which means they will leave themselves open at the back and against Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, that spells trouble. Both teams to score looks another obvious one and again at 1/2 with BoyleSports, that’s a great bet as I was expecting to see it at a lot shorter price.

Munich were beaten 1-0 at home to lowly Augsburg at the weekend, but with the Bundesliga wrapped up months ago, Guardiola rested a number of star names in that one and reserve goalkeeper Pepe Reina was sent-off early doors.

Munich have been decimated by injuries this season, but they could welcome back Franck Ribery for this vital tie and if the Frenchman does return, that strengthens the goals case even more.

Barcelona are just flying at the the moment both domestically and in Europe. Luis Enrique’s side won again at the weekend, 2-0 against David Moyes’ Real Sociedad, and that was their seventh game in succession in which they have kept a clean sheet.

Barca are 17/10 to get the win in Germany with BoyleSports, but the mindset is very different when you hold a 3-0 first leg lead and I don’t expect them to go all out for the win.

I like the game to be a draw at 13/5 with BoyleSports and with goals very much expected, I like the chances of a 3-3 draw at a massive 33/1.

Messi did the business for us last week with the opening goal and the little maestro will be a popular choice again for this one at 4/1 with BoyleSports. The home side have to attack and one man who has an excellent goalscoring record against Barcelona is Thomas Muller and at 5/1 on the German international to open the scoring, he’s the man for me.

Seeley’s Selections:
Over 2.5 Goals – Yes @ 8/13
Both Teams To Score – Yes @ 1/2
Draw @ 13/5
Correct Score: Bayern Munich 3-3 Barcelona @ 33/1
Thomas Muller First Goalscorer @ 5/1
