Seeley’s Selections – Friday Copa America Stats & Tips

The shocks just keep on coming in the Copa America and this tournament really is becoming a punters’ graveyard with Brazil the latest short-priced favourites to get turned over on Thursday against Colombia.

We have two matches to get it back on Friday and I fancy our chances in the battle with the old enemy.

Ecuador v Mexico

The first match between Ecuador and Mexico might not appear to be the most attractive, but, as my ex-girlfriends have said before, looks can be very deceptive.

Ecuador have started to attract the early support with BoyleSports punters and they are into 15/8 to win this which really does surprise me.

La Tricolor were comfortably beaten by Chile in their group opener and were a complete shambles defensively against Bolivia in their recent match losing 3-2 in a match they trailed 3-0 at one stage.

The Mexicans played their part in a surprise 3-3 draw against Chile and they will take a lot of confidence from that performance into this crucial match but their defensive frailties also make them a risky bet at BoyleSports 7/5.

With two shocking defences on display here and pretty decent forward lines, I’m swerving the match betting predictions for this one and I’m putting all my punting eggs in the goals basket.

This promises to be a real entertaining clash and my best bet of the whole tournament is on the 8/11 with BoyleSports on both teams scoring. I also like the industry best 20/21 on over 2.5 goals, and, at a nicer price of 23/10 I’m taking that in the over 3.5 goals market.

Seeley’s Selections:
Both Teams To Score – YES @ 8/11
Over 2.5 Goals @ 20/21
Over 3.5 Goals @ 23/10

Chile v Bolivia

In the night’s other match hosts Chile take on Bolivia and the build-up to the Group A decider has been dominated by Arturo Vidal’s car crash.

The Juventus midfielder has been their star of the tournament in the opening matches and how much his loss from the team will effect them or motivate them, well, thats anyone’s guess. Backers of La Roja at the short odds of just 3/10 with BoyleSports should do so with caution.

Even allowing for the loss of Vidal, the Chileans should have far too much class for this Bolivian side who have turned all their pre-tournament form on its head in these championships.

Bolivia raced into a 3-0 lead against Ecuador last time out, but they were hanging on for dear life in the end and just got over the line with a 3-2 victory.

Chile have to perform in this game as the Vidal controversy has added to the big pressure on Jorge Sampaoli’s shoulders and I think they will.

I’m taking them to win this 3-1 at 10/1 with BoyleSports.

Our pre-tournament top goalscorer selection Alexis Sanchez hasn’t scored in this tournament yet and now it’s the Arsenal striker’s time to shine.

I’m sticking with the former Barcelona ace and hoping thats it’s third time lucky for BoyleSports punters. I have to go in again at 5/2 on him scoring the first goal as especially now, in Vidal’s absence, he will be on penalty duties.

Seeley’s Selections:
Correct Score Chile 3-1 @ 10/1
Alexis Sanchez First Goalscorer @ 5/2

B Lucky.
