Pats have won four of their last five games in the league as they mount a late title bid. It looked like an impossible task for them earlier in the season but they’ve clawed the gap back to just three points.

Along with their exploits in the Premier Division, the club have shone brightest this season during their FAI Cup run dispatching Longford Town, Derry City, Finn Harps and Cork City to reach the final for the first time since their 2021 success (which was ironically against Bohemians who they’ll play in this year’s final).

While it is unlikely that they surpass Shamrock Rovers in the table at this late stage, victory in this fixture would give them an outside opportunity to overcome the odds that are seemingly stacked against them.

Interestingly, Stephen Bradley has been in charge of the club since 2016 and speculation is rife that he could be departing for the currently vacant Lincoln City job following the departure of another Dubliner Mark Kennedy from the club in recent days.
