Tenebrism Shortens For 1000 Guineas After Impressive Newmarket Performance

The Aidan O’Brien trained Tenebrism landed the Group One Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday and has now been cut to win the 1000 Guineas.

This 2-year-old daughter of Caravaggio hadn’t been seen since winning in Naas back in March but overcame her odds of 14/1 to finish a length ahead of 11/1 shot Flotus with the 13/8 favourite Sacred Bridge back in 8th.

We had trimmed Tenebrism into 14/1 from 25/1 to win the 1000 Guineas but has since been trimmed further into 8/1 now.

Flotus has also been clipped into 20/1 from 50/1 for trainer Simon & Ed Crisford while Miss Carol Ann is 33/1 from 100/1 for the same race for trainer Roger Varian following her victory in the opener at Newmarket.

Aidan O’Brien had more success as Luxembourg won the Group Two Beresford Stakes at the Curragh under jockey Seamie Heffernan justifying his short 8/13 odds.

This speedy 2-year-old son of Camelot won by 4¾ lengths to Manu Et Corde and is 6/1 from 16/1 for the Dewhurst, 10/1 from 25/1 for the 2000 Guineas and 10/1 from 20/1 for the Derby.

Perfect Power won the Group One Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes and is 12/1 from 20/1 for the 2000 Guineas.

Bet on Newmarket 1000 Guineas.
