Galway Races Tuesday Odds & Market Movers

5.10pm

The action gets underway at Day 2 of the Galway festival at 5.10pm this evening. It’s one way traffic in the first race for Willie Mullins’ Absurde with Paul Townend on board at 5/6 with BoyleSports.

The race is dominated by three from the Mullins yard with Space Tourist the second favourite at 9/2 and Williamstowndancer at 5/1.

5.40pm

The 5.40pm looks uncompetitive too with Mullins’ Sharjah the red-hot 1/4 favourite. He’s trailed by Gordon Elliott’s Mars Harper in the betting at 6/1.

6.10pm

In the 6.10pm, Dermot Weld’s Tannola is getting some attention at 11/4.

Mayfair, trained by A P O’Brien has drifted slightly this morning to 9/4 from 15/8 while the outsiders being nibbled include Andrew McNamara’s I’ll Rise at 12/1 and Michael Patrick Fenton’s Francoise Ardy at 50/1.

6.40pm

Noel Meade’s Joe Masseria in the 6.40pm looks to be the punters choice with BoyleSports seeing his odds be chipped away into 13/2 this morning.

Also amongst the fancies is Peter Fahey’s Soaring Monarch at 8/1 and Current Option trained by Adrian McGuinness at 8/1 (from 10/1).

7.15pm

The 7.15pm race is over 7 furlongs with the favourite Pier Pressure at odds of 2/1.

He is closely followed in the betting by Livio Milo at 9/4 and Nelda at odds of 5/2.

7.50pm

The penultimate race this Tuesday in Galway is the 7.50 which will be run over a 7-furlong trip.

This race appears wide open with three the three favourites installed at odds between 4/1 and 5/1.

The favourite is Plunkett at 4/1 odds, closely followed in the betting by second favourite Game Veloci at 9/2 while Bells On Her Toes is next in the betting at 5/1.

8.20pm

The final race on Tuesday at this year’s Galway Races is scheduled for an off-time of 8.20pm.

Our odds makers can’t separate the top two in the betting as we have co-favourites. Complete Fiction is one of the co-favourites for this race at odds of 4/1. The other co-favourite is Starting Monday also at 4/1.

Both co-favourites are closely followed by Khafaaq at odds of 9/2.
