Wyndham Championship Golf Betting As BoyleSports To Pay 10 Places

Golf ace Shane Lowry is hot on the heels of the favourites as he returns to PGA Tour action this week at the Wyndham Championship.

The tournament is the last opportunity for Tour players to qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs as the top 125 in the standings after this week proceed to the FedEx St Jude, with $18m up for grabs for the playoff winner following the season-ending Tour Championship later this month.

Lowry has failed to record a victory all year despite consistently good form and is the fourth-highest ranked player in the field this week behind Will Zalatoris, Billy Horschel and Sungjae Im.

Zalatoris and Im are in pole position to tee off as favourites for the event as 12/1 joint market leaders, but World Number 24 Lowry is closing in having been backed into 14/1 from 16/1 in the betting, who are paying each-way customers down to ten places for the event instead of five, below.

Defending champion Kevin Kisner, who emerged victorious last year following a six-man playoff, is a popular each-way pick at 28/1 having finished in the top ten in four out of his last five appearances at the Wyndham Championship.

Englishman Tyrell Hatton has been clipped into 25/1 from 28/1 to land a second PGA Tour title to add to his 2020 victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “Shane Lowry has been one of the most consistent golfers all season and while he hasn’t yet got over the line, punters are confident a win is just around the corner.

It would be well-timed with the lucrative FedEx Cup on the horizon and at 14/1 from 16/1, he isn’t far from being favourite to warm up in the best possible fashion.”
