Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing is the runaway 3/10 favourite in the betting. Lando Norris is seen as his closest challenger at 17/2.

Further out in the betting are Charles Leclerc at 14/1, Carlos Sainz (16/1) and Lewis Hamilton at 18/1.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix Track

The 6.201 km (3.853 mi) street circuit runs counterclockwise and features 17 corners and a 1.900 km (1.181 mi) straight.

It starts in a former parking lot which has been bought by Formula One for $240 million and developed for the pits and paddock area, and also contains a permanent track.

Las Vegas Grand Prix Betting Favourites

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen is the massive favourite to win the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix at odds of 3/10. Those odds imply that Verstappen has a 76.9% chance of victory in this race.

The Red Bull driver leads The Driver’s Championship with a 524-point total and over double the tally of his teammate and closest challenger Sergio Perez on 258 points.

From 21 races this season, Verstappen has a staggering 17 victories and 19 podium finishes. Given that track record, it is no surprise that he is a 3/10 favourite to continue his flying form in Las Vegas following a victory in the Brazilian Grand Prix last time on track.

Interestingly, in the lead-up to the race this weekend Verstappen has been very vocal about his thoughts on the event calling it “99% show 1% event” and “not very interesting”. Is this a sign of a lack of focus or will he be at his ruthless best again come this weekend? I suspect the latter is far more likely.

Lando Norris

The second favourite for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix is Lando Norris at odds of 17/2. Those odds suggest that Lando Norris has a 10.5% chance of winning the first-ever Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Verstappen’s closest challenger Sunday is expected to be one of the rising stars in the sport of F1, Lando Norris.

The 23-year-old is currently in fifth place in the Drivers’ Championship, following 7 podium finishes this season. That total is only bettered by Verstappen (19) and Sergio Perez (8).

At the most recent event, the Brazilian Grand Prix, Norris came runner-up to Verstappen but has described this new circuit at the weekend as giving “Opportunities for everyone” He’s also another driver who isn’t a fan of the show element of this week’s GP.

Charles Leclerc

Next up in the betting is Charles Leclerc who has been given odds of 14/1 to win in Las Vegas. Those odds imply that Leclerc has a 6.7% chance of winning this weekend’s Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Ferrari Driver Leclerc, 26, is another who looks like he has a bright future ahead of himself in the sport. However, things haven’t been going his way of late as he is currently only in 7th place in the Drivers’ Championship and finished a disastrous 20th in the Brazilian Grand Prix after a mechanical failure took him out of the race.

In recent days following speculation over his future with Ferrari he seems to have committed to the team saying he wouldn’t “change his place with anyone” – even to win a World Title with another team.

Carlos Sainz

Further out in the betting is Carlos Sainz Jr at odds of 16/1. Those odds suggest that Sainz has a 5.9% chance of crossing the finish line in first place in Las Vegas this weekend.

Carlos Sainz is currently 6th in the Drivers’ Championship with his most recent finish also being a 6th place at the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver, 29, still has outside hopes of a podium finish in the Drivers Championship with him trailing Hamilton in third by 34 points.

In the lead-up to the event, he has been outspoken about the growing F1 calendar and the demands being put on drivers.

Lewis Hamilton

Britain’s Lewis Hamilton is rated as an 18/1 chance to win the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix. Those odds imply that Hamilton has a 5.3% chance of success in this weekend’s big race.

While Hamilton is no longer the dominant force he once was, largely because of the exploits of Red Bull, he is still a top-class driver.

The 38-year-old is currently 3rd in the Drivers’ Championship on 226 points. However, his disappointing 8th-place finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix means he failed to cut the gap between himself and Sergio Perez with two races remaining in the season.

Hamilton is another who has been vocal in the lead-up to the event.
