Tiger Roll Odds Cut For Third Aintree Grand National Following Weights

Tiger Roll will have to carry 11st 4lb if he bids to win a record-equalling third Aintree Grand National in April after the weights for the world’s most famous race were revealed on Tuesday.

Tiger Roll became the first horse since Red Rum in the 1970s to win consecutive Grand Nationals when he was triumphant in 2018 and 2019 and his chances of winning the 2022 renewal are looking positive after his odds were cut.

Trained by Gordon Elliott, Tiger Roll’s official rating of 161 means his allotted weight is 5lb lower than when he was withdrawn from the race last year.

We have cut the Tiger into 25/1 from 33/1 after the weights were revealed..

…and although his mark is 11lb higher than his win in 2018 and 4lb higher that 2019, punters haven’t lost faith in this remarkable horse.

Another of Elliott’s charges being backed is the 8-year-old Escaria Ten who has been allotted 10st 9lb with his odds cut into 16/1 from 20/1.

Recently purchased Noble Yeats who will remain in training with Emmet Mullins is a 16/1 chance from 25/1 after it was confirmed he is to carry 10st 4lb.
