Frank Lampard Favoured In Betting Market

The odds on Frank Lampard being the first managerial casualty of the New Year in the Premier League have collapsed after Everton’s humbling 4-1 defeat to Brighton.

The result leaves the Toffees embroiled in another tight battle against relegation, although several reports suggest Lampard will still be in charge for their FA Cup clash away at Manchester United on Friday.

That hasn’t stopped punters backing him for the axe, as BoyleSports have now been forced to slash Lampard into 2/7 from 2/1 in the betting to be the first top-flight manager to lose his job this year.

Pressure Mounting On Moyes At West Ham

David Moyes is also deemed in trouble as West Ham have sunk to just one place above the relegation zone, with Wednesday’s draw against Leeds their only point picked up from the last 18 available. But Moyes has also been eased to 4/1 from 11/10 with Lampard rated in much more imminent peril.

The West Ham manager could represent value for punters in the market for next Premier League manager to leave their post as this team doesn’t seem to be responding to his management at the moment.

Time Running Out For Nathan Jones?

Southampton and their manager Nathan Jones were the subject of boos following their sixth successive Premier League loss earlier this week. The 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest had fans audibly voicing their displeasure with the state of affairs in Southampton.

You can back Jones to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post at 7/1 odds.

End Of The Road For Rodgers At Leicester?

Leicester and Brendan Rodgers find themselves in an unusual position for a club that have spent most of the last five years in the top half of England’s top flight.

The Foxes are only two points out of the relegation places with wins seemingly hard to come by at the King Power Stadium. Rodgers is one of the most respected managers in England and Neil Lennon recently backed him to be given more time.

If recent form continues then the 11/1 odds on Rodgers being the next manager out will quickly shorten.

Conte’s Job In Jeopardy?

Antonio Conte had also been the subject of some speculative gambles earlier this week, but Tottenham’s 4-0 win away at Crystal has eased the pressure on the Italian. Conte has now been pushed out to 14/1 from 3/1 in the sack race.

While that big win at Crystal Palace will have taken pressure off of Conte for the time being, another poor run of form will see him right back on the hot seat.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said:

There has been a deluge of bets this week on Frank Lampard losing his job and even if he does take charge at Old Trafford on Friday, punters are confident he is on borrowed time.

“Antonio Conte and David Moyes are the other two names attracting money this week, but Lampard bears the unwanted tag of strong favourite and at 2/7 from 2/1 over the past 48 hours, many clearly believe it’s only a matter of time.”
