Blues are coming in for support for a successful Championship campaign in John Eustace’s first season in charge.

The former Coventry, Stoke, Watford and Derby midfielder signed a three-year deal at St Andrew’s this summer having previously managed Kidderminster between 2016 and 2018, before a four-year stint as assistant manager at QPR.

Eustace begins his first Championship campaign with an away trip to Luton Town and Blues are 10/3 underdogs for their season opener.

An increase in support in the Midlands since his appointment means Birmingham are now 8/1 shots from 10/1 in the latest betting with BoyleSports to finish the 2022/23 season inside the top six.

A top-half finish has also been clipped into 11/4 from 4/1, while last season’s points tally of 47 is heavily expected to be breached with a 50-plus haul now odds-on at 8/13.

The Blues’ promotion chances are rated at 20/1, while the prospect of Eustace picking up a Manager of the Month award at any time next season has been backed into 12/1 from 14/1.

Mark Robins’ side begin their new season in front of the Sky Sports cameras with an away trip to League One play-off winners Sunderland at 12pm and are edging the betting at 6/4 with BoyleSports to get off to a winning start.

Coventry’s play-off push faded towards the end of last season, but punters are bullish about more progress under Robins as they were trimmed into 8/1 from 10/1 for promotion to the Premier League, while the chances of them eclipsing last season’s points total of 64 is rated an odds-on shot at 4/7.

Odds of 25/1 are on offer about Coventry earning top-flight football for the first time since the 2000/01 season as Champions, half the price they were at the start of last season.

Chelsea Academy graduate and summer recruit from Bristol City, Kasey Palmer, has been chalked up at 6/1 to scoop the Players’ Player of the Year accolade after his maiden season in the Sky Blue, while Mark Robins is a 10/1 shot to pick up a Manager of the Month award before May next year.
