James Maddison Next Club Odds, Transfer News & Rumours

We have James Maddison next club odds for you in this post as the Leicester star looks set to leave following the club’s recent relegation.

James Maddison’s Career So Far

After 203 appearances for Leicester City where he scored 55 goals, provided 41 assists in 203 games. His spell at the club included winning an FA Cup and Community Shield after signing back in 2018.

The England International looks destined to leave Leicester this summer following their relegation to the Championship in the most recent Premier League season.

James Maddison has been long tipped for a move away from Leicester due to his performances at the club and with his contract expiring in June 2024 they will want to cash-out now before losing him on a free next summer.

Despite a less than stellar season from Leicester, Maddison was arguably the clubs best performer in 32 appearances he scored 10 goals and provided 9 assists. Maddison against other attacking midfielders/wingers ranks in the 90th percentile for Assists with 0.33 Assists per 90, 5.01 Shot Creating Actions per 90 which is in the 87th percentile and 5.48 progressive passes per 90 which is in the 85th percentile.

So where could he end up?

James Maddison Next Club Odds

Newcastle – Favourites To Sign James Maddison @ 1/2

Saudi-Backed Newcastle are believed to have a “slight advantage” in the race for Maddison as Rudy Galetti reports they consider Leicester’s alleged asking price of €60m a fair price – but the race is fully open as both Newcastle and Tottenham are in talks with his agent.

Newcastle following their qualification for Champions League Football for the 23/24 Champions League will be looking to bolster their squad depth ahead of a huge season for The Magpies.

Maddison could provide Newcastle with another type of option deeper in midfield alongside Guimaraes and Willock. Or he could also provide a rotation option on the RW with Almiron. Offering another option for Eddie Howe.

Tottenham – 5/1

Tottenham could undergo somewhat of a transitionary period under new boss Ange Postecoglou and despite no European Football for next season (which could be a blessing in disguise) are second favourites for Maddison.

Maddison could play as one the two eights in a 4-2-3-1 under Ange or could be employed in the attacking midfielder position behind Harry Kane (who may leave this summer) or which ever striker ends up leading the line for them next season.

Maddison’s quality on the ball and productivity in-front of goal certainly wouldn’t go a miss at Spurs.

Arsenal 10/1

Arsenal went from 5th in the 21/22 season to title challengers and 2nd place this season to secure Champions League qualification for the first time since the 15/16 season. Arsenal have primarily played with a midfield trio of Partey, Xhaka and Odegaard this season.

However, Partey turns 30 this season while Xhaka is being heavily linked with a move to Bayer Leverkusen this summer so manager Mikel Arteta will want more options and strength in depth if he is going to continue their progression next season. Maddison would offer them an option not only in midfield but also in the forward line.

Others Contenders

Manchester United are currently 12/1 and have been heavily linked with Maddison in the past and could come back in the summer for him.

Liverpool are 14/1 and will be looking to freshen up their stale squad this summer while spend happy Chelsea could be an interesting prospect for punters at 16/1.
