Key Players To Watch
Billy Drennan
The Right corner-forward was only playing U20 Hurling last year and played with them only two-weeks ago scoring a staggering 2-12 v Galway U20s. Despite this being his first year on the panel he looks to be the next superstar hurler to come out of Kilkenny after hitting a 2-70 total across his 7 league matches an average of 10.85 points per match.
It’s clear that Drennan is stamping his authority on the Kilkenny forward-line already! However it is unclear whether he will be fit for this tie as fears are growing that he could face a spell on the side-line following a suspected leg-injury. If he is available though it will be a huge boost for Kilkenny.
Another MOTM performance for Kilkenny's Billy Drennan this afternoon, scoring 2-12 for The Cats in their win over Galway 🔥
And he left the best score til last 🚀

Daithi Burke
During their league campaign the strength of the Galway team was in their defence with the third best one in their group conceding a total of 112 points, an average of only 22.4 points per match.
A large part of that success in defence is to the credit of Captain and rock-hard Galway Full-Back Daithi Burke! Traditionally you can expect Kilkenny to always be a goal-threat and if Galway are to stop them Burke’s leadership and no nonsense attitude from the back-line will be pivotal to any success.
What a shoulder from Daithi Burke!!! pic.twitter.com/ZP6emvrjz2
