This game is a division matchup between two rival teams that will kick off NFL Super Wild Card Weekend. The 49ers have been one of the best teams in the NFL this season and despite losing their top two quarterbacks they are still rated as one of the favourites to win this season’s Super Bowl.
The Seahawks on the other hand were expected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season but they exceeded expectations to grab the last NFC playoff spot. With that being said, they are one of the least talented teams in these playoffs.
The match handicap favours San Francisco by 9.5 points which paints the picture of the gulf in quality between these two sides. For all the talent that the 49ers have I am still very concerned about their rookie quarterback Brock Purdy. The young QB has played well since he has come in but playoff football is a massive step up from the regular season.
The last time these teams played was less than a month ago when the 49ers prevailed 21-13. I would expect to see something similar play out in this first playoff game, the Seahawks can keep it close in a low scoring game.

This is one of the most evenly matched games of Super Wild Card Weekend. The Chargers have one of the best young quarterbacks in the league in the shape of Justin Herbert who is surrounded by a talented roster of players.
The Jaguars on the other hand also have a promising young QB in Trevor Lawrence who has been playing the best football of his career in recent weeks.
Both these teams are in spectacular form of late with the Jaguars 5-0 in their last five games and the Chargers 4-1 over that same stretch.
In a tight matchup like this I’m going to go with the better quarterback so the Chargers winning a close one on the road is my pick here.

It’s hard to see this being a close game and the handicap of Bills -12.5 reflects that.
Buffalo are a true Super Bowl contender and although they have gotten worse on defence since the season ending injury to star pass rusher Von Miller they still have what it takes to go all the way.
The Dolphins, when fully healthy, are still not at the level of the Bills but this team is nowhere near being fully healthy. Their starting QB and his backup have been ruled out of this game. In addition to this, star receiver Tyreek Hill picked up an ankle injury last week and likely won’t be at 100% for the game either.
It has been almost two months since the Bills last lost a game and even on that occasion it took the Vikings overtime to get the win against Buffalo. As long as the weather isn’t too bad the Bills should win this game by 13+.

The Vikings welcome the Giants to Minnesota in what sets up to be one of the best games of Super Wild Card Weekend.
New York makes their first playoff appearance since 2016. They clinched a spot in this postseason thanks to a campaign where they greatly exceeded expectations. While this roster isn’t brimming with talent they have played solid football all year under new head coach Brian Daboll.
The Vikings on the other hand were 13-4 in the regular season, one of the best records in the league. Their record flatters them a little bit as they played a pretty easy schedule and were beaten by big margins in some of their losses.
There are two key advantages that Minnesota have over the Giants in this game. Firstly, they have the ability to be explosive in the passing game with soon to be All-Pro Justin Jefferson surrounded by a solid supporting cast of receivers. Secondly, Minnesota have one of the best home field advantages in the NFL and I think that is ultimately going to be the deciding factor in this game.

These two teams are division rivals and even played as recently as last weekend. It was the Bengals who won that game comfortably 27-16.
The Ravens only real chance in this game is if their star QB Lamar Jackson is able to play in this game and current reports sound like Jackson won’t be fit to play. The Ravens QB has been on the sidelines since the injury suffered a little over a month ago.
The Bengals come into these playoffs as the #3 seed in the AFC and they look like a team that can compete with both the Chiefs and the Bills for a spot in the Super Bowl. A home game against a Lamar Jackson-less Ravens should result in a comfortable win this Sunday night.

Tom Brady as an underdog in a home playoff game? You don’t see that too often. In fact it has never happened before.
The Dallas Cowboys, at 12-5, have a much better record than the Buccaneers who are 8-9. However, thanks to the Eagles finishing ahead of Dallas in the division they are forced to travel to Tampa Bay to face this Bucs team in the Wild Card round.
These teams have already played this season. The game was all the way back in week one when the Buccaneers beat the Cowboys with ease on a scoreline of 19-3. That was a long time ago now but it might tell you that Tampa Bay matches up quite well against this Dallas team.
The Buccaneers were downright terrible during the early to middle part of this season and as a result they have ended up with a losing record at 8-9. However, in the last month they have gotten healthier and started to improve.
If you want to pick against Tom Brady in a playoff game then you are a braver man than I am so the pick here is Brady and Tampa Bay winning and advancing to the divisional round.
