“Soft ground is definitely not going to help the chances of Hewick, Enniskerry and Ash Tree Meadow, whose best form is all on good ground. It’s not going to affect the likes of Kilcruit who has form and strong form on soft ground.”

“Hollow Games has only been seen a few times over fences, he won a beginners chase in Navan last year over 2m1f on yielding to soft ground. We know he handles soft ground and I think he’s got a big chance.”

There will be 7 races run on Wednesday at the Galway Races.

Wednesday is an evening meeting in Galway with the first race getting underway at 5.10pm and the last race scheduled to go off at 8.20pm.

Galway Races Wednesday Odds & Market Movers

5.10pm

The third day of action at the Galway Races gets under way at 5.10pm with a hot battle for favouritism, between Jessica Harrington’s Lan Cinnte and Genuine Article sharing favouritism at 9/4.

Genuine Article has been cut into that price of 9/4 from 3/1 for trainer Dermot Weld. The ‘King of Ballybrit’ stole the headlines on Tuesday with two winners, including a victory for Couer D’or in the feature race on day two.

5.40pm

The aptly named Weather Alert is a notable mover in the 5.40 at 12/1 from 33/1. Joseph Patrick O’Brien’s Up And Under is the clear favourite going into the race at odds of 4/6.

6.10pm

Willie Mullins and Rachael Blackmore team up to represent the favourite in the 6.10, Immelman (9/4 from 4/1). Mon Coeur has attracted attention in the betting market and is into 11/1 from 16/1.

6.40pm – The Galway Plate

All eyes will then turn to the Galway Plate at 6.40, where Kilcruit is 9/2 favourite to deliver for Paul Townend and Willie Mullins.

Final Orders, Ash Tree Meadow and Hewick are all on the drift, but Robbie Power’s tip Hollow Games is now 15/2 second favourite from 12/1.

In the 7.15 Emmet Mullins-trained Aurora Princess leads the way in the betting at 7/2. Gordon Elliott’s Royal Eagle is another leading fancy having been cut into 6/1 from 15/2.
