Willie Mullins Backed To Clean Up At The Cheltenham Festival 2022
The Closutton trainer has landed the title at Prestbury Park an incredible eight times…
…And we’ve cut the chances of a ninth top trainer crown into 4/9 from 4/6 this week, following an outstanding Dublin Racing Festival for Mullins at Leopardstown.
Mullins won six of the eight Grade One races, picking up over €750,000 in prize money across both days and that has put him in pole position as clear favourite to finish the week at Cheltenham with most winners. Cullentra based trainer Gordon Elliott is the 3/1 second favourite, while Henry De Bromhead has been eased out to 8/1 from 6/1.
It’s also no surprise to see Paul Townend shorten to be crowned top jockey at the Cheltenham Festival. The stable jockey for Mullins is now 4/5 from 10/11 as he prepares to partner the likes of Al Boum Photo, Appreciate It, Energumene and Galopin Des Champs.
