WWE WrestleMania 39 Predictions

Grudge Match Seth Rollins (1/2) vs. Logan Paul (6/4)

When people began to speculate who would face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania many wondered why Seth Rollins was not part of the conversation. However, it became clear at the Royal Rumble where his future lay when he was eliminated by Pop Culture “Star” and last year’s most surprisingly positive performer Logan Paul.

After being at each other’s hair for weeks and promo battle after promo battle, WrestleMania should spark the end of this feud which has spun since Paul suffered his first loss to Reigns at Crown Jewel in November. Logan Paul is a surprisingly good professional wrestler for a novice and Rollins is a gem so this matchup could steal the show.

I’m predicting a Seth Rollins win as long as Logan’s brother Jake Paul doesn’t get involved.

Prediction: Seth Rollins

WWE United States Championship Match: John Cena (6/4) vs. Austin Theory (c) (1/2)

It had been rumoured for some time before John Cena took a break from his Hollywood schedule to face young up-shot and Champion Austin Theory (25) at WrestleMania before his return to RAW two weeks ago.

Theory wanted the fight and after much persuasion, Cena finally agreed to fight him at WrestleMania declaring “I’ll face you at WrestleMania but you’re not ready”.

Now Cena has made a career out of getting the rub of the green, could it be high-time Theory gets one? Cena after the show will be heading back to Hollywood so I cannot see past him “Theory’s Time is Now”.

Prediction: Austin Theory

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Gunther (c) (10/11) vs. Drew McIntyre (4/1) vs. Sheamus (6/4)

This is one of three matches which will have an Irish-Person involved as Sheamus will be looking to win the one title which eludes him in WWE by beating Gunther and frenemy Scotsman Drew McIntyre for the Championship.

While this fight took weeks to make, it was finally settled that it would be a triple threat following Gunther’s interference in their number-one contender’s match!

I fancy McIntyre to win this one and break Sheamus’s heart before a programme between the two.

Prediction: Drew McIntyre

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn (1/10) vs. The Usos (c) (5/1)

One of the greatest stories in modern-day wrestling is the friendship, fall-out and ultimate reconciliation between Kevin Owen and Sami Zayn. The acting was on par the two and it has been nothing short of Oscar-worthy!

However, it has finally happened that Kevin Owens has come to the realisation that he cannot take the Usos down by himself so he has decided to team up with Sami Zayn to compete against The Usos for the Undisputed Tag Titles at WrestleMania. Sami’s redemption story climaxes now!

Prediction: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

SmackDown Women’s Championship Match: Charlotte Flair (c) (3/1) vs. Rhea Ripley (1/5)

Rhea Ripley and Charlotte have a storied history. Following Ripley’s Royal Rumble victory she immediately opted to face Charlotte Flair on The Grandest Stage of Them All, looking to avenge what happened to her three years ago.

When Flair won the Rumble in 2020, she took on Rhea in an unprecedented move for the NXT Women’s Title to beat Ripley for the Championship. This will be another coming-of-age moment at WrestleMania, Ripley has to win.

Prediction: Rhea Ripley

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (4/11) vs. Roman Reigns (c) (15/8)

The biggest and most anticipated clash at this year’s WrestleMania and it isn’t even close!

Roman Reigns will have held the WWE Universal Championship for over 940 days by the time he walks into WrestleMania. In that time he has defeated every major contender in the company.

Rhodes on the other hand is the man who had to leave the company following his release in May 2016 and set about showing WWE just what they were missing out on! Rhodes is back now and is ready to beat the top guy and become one himself, the fans want it, it surely has to happen.

Unless… If everyone in WWE is not completely behind The American Nightmare, he will lose. However, it just feels like the right time.

Cody Rhodes has served his time and has beaten the WWE machine. Rhodes should win, he deserves it!

Prediction: Cody Rhodes
