Next Everton Manager Odds – Who Will Replace Frank Lampard?

Check out the latest on the next Everton manager odds after the Merseyside club officially parted ways with Frank Lampard.

The chances of Wayne Rooney being appointed next permanent Everton manager have been slashed in the early betting to be next Everton manager.

Lampard was dismissed on Monday after less than a year in charge with the club languishing in the relegation zone following their ninth defeat in 12 matches against West Ham on Saturday.

Betting Odds For The Next Everton Manager

Sean Dyche

Former Burnley manager Sean Dyche has been made the early 11/4 frontrunner to replace the ex-England midfielder as Everton manager. The 51-year-old had a decade long successful run at Burnley where he gained a reputation as a manager that can get consistent performances out of a team with limited resources.

Dyche has been a hot name for vacant manager jobs ever since he left Burnley and he could be just what Everton need as they battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Duncan Ferguson

Another former Everton favourite Duncan Ferguson is prominent in the early list of candidates at 4/1. Ferguson is a club legend at Everton having played for the club for ten years and serving as caretaker manager on two occasions in recent years.

The Scot would be a popular appointment among many fans given his connections to the club and the respect that fans have for him.

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney has also made an eye-catching move into third favourite to return to his boyhood club in the dugout. Rooney had two spells at Everton as a player and is currently in charge of MLS side D.C. United, but he has already been cut into 9/2 from 10/1 by BoyleSports to return to the Toffees as manager.

The England legend started off his managerial career strongly with Derby County when he successfully guided the team to safety from the relegation zone. Since then Rooney doesn’t have the best track record in the dugout with him currently occupying the role of manager at DC United who finished bottom of the MLS last season.

However, nostalgia is powerful and this combined with Rooney’s knowledge of the club and culture make him a top candidate for the job.

Marcelo Bielsa

Marcelo Bielsa is another potential target trending in the right direction, as the former Leeds boss is now 6/1 from 20/1 to be charged with reviving the club’s fortunes.

The Argentine had a successful spell at Leeds where he managed to bring the club back to the Premier League and followed that up with a strong first season in the league. Bielsa would bring with him an intense pressing style of play to Goodison Park.

This could revitalise the team and a fan base that have had very little to cheer about this season.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said:

Sean Dyche may be the early favourite for the Everton job, but he’s still relatively easy to back with a few names said to be in the frame.

It’s a wide-open market, but we have to expect a quick appointment and Wayne Rooney and Marco Bielsa were the two big movers in the hours after Lampard was axed.”
